"Well, exactly what look are you trying to acheive? What tools are you using? What makeup brands? What textures? What is your skin type? What are your skin's undertones? I can't help you if I know nothing about you... Pro~

"Yes, we need to know a little more about what specific problems you are having because different techniques are required for different problems and products. What is your age range, skin type/specific skin problems, and skin tone? What products and types of products are you using? What specific problems are you having? For starters, you can go to a department store make up counter, such as clinique, Estee Lauder, Shiseido, ... and ask for a make up demonstration. The experts can help show you how to apply the make up correctly, suggest colors that look good on you, and address any particular problems. They usually do this for free in the hopes that you will buy their expensive products. You don't have to buy anything, but it would be polite to buy at least a little something for their time and trouble as most of them work on commission. Sometimes they will give you free samples or sell little travel/trial size skin care or make up kits when they are available.Personally, I use the best skin care items and foundation I can afford (to start with a good, smooth "canvass"), and scrimp on "color" items, like blush, eye shadow, brow pencils, and lip liners.
