"I had a baby a couple of years ago, and I haven't lost all of the weight. I feel fine about the extra weight, but I haven't been able to find anything to wear. I have a lot of extra weight around the middle and chest now, but my hips and legs are roughly the same size as before. I would guess that I wear a 14-16 size top, and a 10-12 size bottoms. I'm short, so it's difficult now to find things that fit me all around, and I don't really have the money to have all of my clothes tailored. One of my friends who's taller than me keeps suggesting that I shop at Lane Bryant, but I tried that, and all of the clothes were way too large. I think she thinks I'm delusional about my weight, and that I should shop at plus-sized stores, but I would LOVE a plus-sized store that had clothes to fit me. I can find clothes at major chains like Banana Republic & Old Navy, but the material at Old Navy is flimsy and clings to my middle, and I can't always afford to shop at Banana Republic. My husband works, but I'm a grad student, so finances are tight. Does anyone have some tips for me? Places to shop? How to slim down the area around the middle? I may be a mommy now, but I still want to look hip.

She really likes clothes form Lerner New and Co. They are a chain that used to be owned by the limited, vickys secret brand. I am not sure where you live and if you have access to this store, but their website is lernerny.com. She liked it b/c they have petite sizes, which many places don't offer. they also have tall, basically a wide variety! their clothing is very affordable too! i am in my 20's and buy many of my clothes for the office there also! dress pants are only about 40 bucks and they are always giving bogo deals and coupons out! i'm not sure what your style is, but considering you mentioned the other 2 stores i figured you proabably would like it! it's worth a try anyways! :)

"I am in the same boat too. Lately, I have been getting my clothes at Wal-mart with the George brand. Plus, I wait until I get a good bargain and save money. Other day for business clothing, three skirts and top for under $25.00. It looks professional and trendy too. That what I like.
