"I soak in my jacuzzi and I pour in a cup of buttermilk and about a tablespoon of honey into warm bathwater. It helps me relax and softens my skin. For hair, I use 100% pure coconut oil (not milk). Get it from the grocery section rather than beauty because it would be preservative-free and fragrance-free. Once in a while, I massage in a handful of coconut oil in my hair and scalp. I pull my hair up in a bandana towel or whatever I can find while I let it soak into my hair. While waiting, I lay back in my jacuzzi. When I am finished, I wash my hair as usual. The coconut oil made my hair a lot softer and got rid of the frizzies. I dont know if this would work if you break out easily. For the face, i always hear that oatmeal is good. Anyone have a recipe for a oatmeal mask? It's always good to use natural things.

"When I want an oatmeal mask, I just get the oatmeal wet, put it on my skin, wait until it dries, and rub it off.

"I love scrubs - I make my own sugar scrub by combining white sugar and some different smelling oils, or sometimes I even just use the sugar itself. Sound kind of strange, but I found it works great! An added bonus is that the oil will make your skin super soft if you add it to a tub of water. Sea salt also works, but I prefer the sugar.

"I use generic brand quick cook oatmeal & mix w/hot water in my hand. It doesn't take much oatmeal. Gently rub on your face/neck & rinse off w/warm water. It makes my skin feel so smooth. After rinsing oatmeal from your face, try mixing Aveeno oatmeal w/hot water in your palm. Apply that to your face as a mask. Leave on a few minutes, rinse & apply aloe (alcohol free) as a moisturizer. (Add olive oil after paste dries if you want). I learned this from another poster several months ago & now wash make-up off this way every day.Try doing the same when you shower & apply oatmeal paste to your body. My skin feels good & helps me w/itchy skin. Plus just washes down the drain. Google for "home made beauty recipes" or something along that line. You can learn lots of tips that way as well.

"I think home made recipes is great, as long as it works, and safe.I got tired of buying face scrubs, so I use brown sugar. Just pour some and add to any face cleanser u are using.....rub all over face, rinse, ...and pat dry. It makes my face so smooth, and it removes every trace of makeup, sunblock, everything I have put on during the day. The brown sugar dissolves pretty quickly, so it really doesnt hurt, when u scrub it all over, but it removes whatever dirt whatsoever on the skin.

"I rather have something more readily available, I have had great success with bee luscious cosmetics this company has reasonable priced products that last a very long time and deliver amazing results from head to toe.

"I really like using homemade mixtures, since you have the basic ingredients on hand most of the time, you know EXACTLY what's in them, and they're cheap! If I want something special, I get something from a couple of local people who make their own stuff - it can be a bit more money than the mainstream stuff, but I know exactly who the money is going to, I'm supporting the local economy, and I know what goes into the product. I tend to have dry skin, so I use a sea salt/oil mix as a body scrub a couple of times a week in the shower (just be careful that you don't slip!). The salt removes any dead skin, the oil traps in moisture. I ALWAYS use plant-based oils, such as olive, sunflower, safflower, etc. Mineral oils and petroleum jelly clog my pores. I have never used sugar scrubs, but I imagine they would work in a similar way. These are PHENOMENAL on your hands and feet. So soft!!! I also use witch hazel on my face. Moisten a cotton ball and wipe it over the face to remove dirt and impurities. Just be sure to choose a brand with little or no alcohol. I've heard great things about milk in your bath water. I have a mild allergy to milk, so I don't use it, but if you can drink it, I'd say try it. Epsom salts are the main ingredient in a lot of bath salt mixtures, so you may want to google it and find some combinations that sound good to you.

"Apparently sugar granules are too big to use as facial scrubs and they will damage your skin.Try typing home made beauty tips in google, theres a great website that has hundreds of recipes on it.
