Beautyflow.com ambercat"Lately I have been having trouble getting my acrylic nails to stay on. I have been two different nail technicians, and they both say acrylic nails shouldn't pop off. I don't know if the technician isn't doing something right, or if it's the products they use, but I get tired of spending money on nails that won't stay on. I need some help!!

Have you had the acrylic nails on for a long time? I have had the same problem before and it was because I had them for so long that my real nails became soft and thin and the acrylic just wouldn't hold. I had to leave them off for a couple of months and let my nails grow out and get stronger before I had the acrylic put back on. Hope this helps.

"I tried many different nail techs, as well as different types of nails. They all did the same thing....fell off quickly. Honestly...I just stopped getting them done, except for special occasions. I just get manicures now.

"Hi there, I'm a nail technician, lets see if I can help....If they are coming off around the edges it is called lifting and is probably because the acrylic has touched the cuticle/skin when it was applied, or the edge of the nail has not been prepared properly. If the whole thing is coming away, that's probably because the nail hasn't been etched properly or there is still some oil and moisture in your nail which is causing it to not stick properly. You should check that they are using a primer before applying the acrylic. This strips the oil and temporarily dehydrates the nail whilst the acrylic is applied. The final problem could be the shape of the tip- you may want one which is more/less curved dependant on your finger shape, as if this is stretched on your finger it can cause pressure which will lead to it "popping off".Hope that helps Helen xx
