"Hello all! My friend has chosen an 80's punk theme for her birthday party this weekend and I need some ideas. Any suggestions?So far I think I'm wearing my cut-off jean skirt with black lace around the trim, either tights or fish-nets, and this sweet band t-shirt that i might rip up a little, and maybe black pumps. I think I want to add hot pink jewelry and heavy eye make-up. What do you guys think? Any other ideas? Thank you!

"Maybe some leggings instead of the fishnets, and some high heels (or army boots) with lacy topped socks. Don't forget to spike or tease your hair (at least the bangs) real poufy in the front, maybe pull the sides back a little, kind of mullet-esque. Maybe you could watch a few 80's videos or movies, like "Flashdance", a Madonna movie, or St. Elmo's fire or something.

"If you are going to do more of a punk thing stick with black and army green. As a recovering 80s punk, I wouldn't have been caught dead in hot pink back in the day. It was for fluff chicks and video vixen metal girls. But it depends on how old you are and what you envision as 80s punk. As I remember it, I was into Black Flag, Dead Milkmen, The Smiths etc. *sigh* good times..... Anyway, lose the pumps and add some doc martens. You can wear either leggings or fishnets - just rip up whichever you choose. (Check out the hanes dept of your discount store by the socks for dirt cheap leggings you won't mind destroying). Heavy make up is a must....think vampire.

thanks guys! i'm going with the leggings instead of the fishnets. it looks flippin' sweet with my ripped skirt. i'm going with heavy heavy eyeliner and i'm poofing my bangs back into a sleak ponytail. now i'm just deciding on my shoes. lol. so no to the hot pink huh? i was born in 1986 so i don't know the 80's all that well. thank you guys so much!
