"I've got facial hair on my upper lip and chin and a unibrow. I go to electrolysis, but it gets expensive. Got to say it works, though.I'd hate for the electrolysis to go incomplete -- especially if I get stuck in the hospital for some reason and don't have access to a shaver. Why do I have these? Genetics, I think, but what else can I do?

"You're not alone... I had serious growth and its some minor hormonal imbalance that causes these mostly. But as someone who's had this I'd suggest that you get a couple of checks at least: check for polycystic ovarian syndrome (which I turned out to have) and a thyroid check. As for the surface - ask your doctor if he can prescribe a growth reducing facial cream. If the growth is not too thick, off the shelf products like aveeno or dhc (or maybe its mario badescu) - they both have mild hair growth slowing creams that are pretty safe and effective. Hope this helps!

"just so you know, aveeno's hair reducing moisturiser is called the positively smooth facial moisturiser.

"fast love, I can relate to your facial hair dilemma. I do think that the appearance of it is mostly due to genetics... I think mine is.I don't know much about electrolysis.. did you just have that done to one area or a little on the lip, eyebrow... Personally, I get my upper lip waxed every month or so. I have been waxing my eyebrows every couple of months for the past 10 years and a lot of the hair no longer grows in. But, I still tweeze them every day. Being a woman is a pain in the neck sometimes.

Those prescription creams that slow down the hair growth are pretty expensive though! I just use Nair facial hair removal...
