Beautyflow.com notnow12"I am in my forties, I have very oily skin and I still have bad break outs! Not the kind of pimples that come to a head and pop, but hard, sore, red knots under the skin. I FAITHFULLY clean my skin, use oil free moisturizer and nothing helps. I've gone to using "mineral" type foundation, and if I use any "acne" products like benzoil peroxide, it just dries out my skin and makes it chafed. What else can I do?

"try going to acne.org or dankernsregimen.com. dan kern, that owns the site has tons of information, and there are always discussion groups on what works from people with problem skin of all ages--and they also address acne not only on the face but on the body as well--They are reasonably priced products if you want to buy there, just get information, ask questions, etc. Cetaphil and cleocin-t a prescription for topical application worked for me and didn't give the drying and flaking like benzoyl peroxide and doesn't scar like if i use a product with salicylic acid. But also properly moisturizing/sunscreening is important but once i started the cleocin-t, it cleared the breakouts and i could use my normal moisturizer. With consistent knots under the skin, have you tried an antibiotic--but you will have to stay out of the sun--i found the cleocin and antibiotics combo worked well.
