"Depending on your hair length...you can NEVER go wrong with a low side ponytail with a little of your curls out framing your face. If you have bangs, then sweep them to the side. Think Michelle Williams 2006 Oscars. If you have shorter hair then maybe think about a headband. As far as product I would maybe use something with some frizz control...Frizz-Ease is a nice product and Sebastian's Potion 9 is great as well.Good Luck!

"We really need to know how long, what style, and does it have bangs or layers. If you're going to leave it curly, then definitely get something to keep frizzies under control. The Frizz-ease line has several products that are numbered so you know what order to use them in. After shampooing and conditioning, gently scrunch/squeeze your hair with a towel (don't rough it up by towel drying vigorously), apply a little no frizz serum or mouse and let it air dry or dry with a diffuser on the hair dryer. Apply a little creme type conditioner to ends or anywhere that looks frizzy. You might try a loose up-do if you have longish hair, and pull a few curling tendrils down around your face, and maybe your neck. Use a little hairspray if you need to. For dress up, use a sparkly hair clip or hair pins. It can look nice with your dressy holiday clothes, or even a casual sweater and holiday earrings. If you don't want to leave it curly, use a straightening/smoothing shampoo, conditioner, and smoothing balm, then straighten it out with a large round brush and dryer, and hair straightener, or really large hot rollers. The extra body from the perm will give you volume, and then just style it how you want. Try a few "practice" runs before a big event, and look at magazines and TV stars for hair-do ideas.

My hair is a little layered and it runs to the middle of my back. I do have bangs but not the short ones.... they go to about the bottom of my nose.

If you are gonna get a perm you have to use product.towel dry your hair then put in either mousse or gel scrunch it in using the towel this sucks out excess water but leaves the product. Also diffusers are a perms best friend helps dry hair without frizzing it out.Do not over ork permed hair the more you mess with it the more frizzy it will get.If you still have trouble getting it right you should always be able to go to your stylist for help.If your stylist won't give you the time to help teach you how to work with your new style you are going to the wrong person and it is time to search for a new one!!!Best of luck!!

"If you want it curly, go upside down , blow dry with fingers, scrunching and use silk therapy, its not crunchy and defines the curls and adds shine- or you can blow it out straight with a big round brush then finish with flat iron- use silk therapy as well to staighten.

"The first thing you should do when getting a new style is asking your stylist how to maintain it....If you're able, contact your stylist for maintenance details (if you can). If not, go with the ladies' suggestions. They really know what they're talking about.

"I don't know about perms, but if it helps, my daughter has long, extremely curly hair. She has learned that you have to work with what you've got and not try to fight it. She towel drys her hair, works a really good gel or mousse designed for curly hair through it and gently combs it through with a very wide toothed comb or pick. Then she does not touch it again afterward...if you do, you will end up with frizz.

"I don't have bangs, but my hair is about the same length as you describe and very thick and I keep it permed because not all of my hair curls on it's own. After using a towel to get out excess moisture, I use a light conditioning spray and comb through my hair with a wide toothed comb. Garnier Fructis has a curl mousse that I really like (not crunchy, but it covers and holds well), I get all the ends first (don't want it to look like you have split ends) and then try to make sure to cover the rest of the curls evenly. I probably have to use more mousse than most because of my thick hair, but I use ~3 billiard ball size 'dallops'. Once it's covered, I scrunch it to bring the curl back and then let it air dry. I don't use a hair dryer, play with it, or really touch it once it's moussed if I'm wearing it down or it will tend to get fluffy. I hope this helps! Good luck! :)
