Beautyflow.com whatyouget"So, my hair has been the exact same for about 10 years, at the very least. Maybe my whole life. One length all-around, no bangs, usually very long, sometimes as short as my shoulders. And, now that it's down to my thighs and the ends are damaged beyond belief... I want something different.I need suggestions. My hair is medium brown, and somewhat thick. It has a very slight wave once it gets past my shoulders. It's not super frizzy, but it can get that way in the heat. I have an oval-ish face, but kinda chubby cheeks (sigh), and a cut that would thin my face/make my neck look longer would be awesome. I don't want it any shorter than my chin or a bit past. It would be nice if it was low-maintenance, but as long as I don't have to spend an hour a day on it it's fine. Pictures/suggestions would be super appreciated, I've never been much of a clothes/makeup/hair girl, or put anything into my appearence, and starting college I'd like to change that.

"Definitely get some of the length off, even if you don't go short. I can appreciate, and like long hair, but hair longer than your waist is just a bit on the freaky side, like letting your fingernails grow several inches long, or a man letting his beard grow down to his waist. If you're cutting that much, then you can probably donate the hair to Locks of Love. My hair dresser gives a free cut if you donate hair over 6" long. It doesn't even have to be in really great shape.Have you considered cutting it shoulder length with long layers? Kind of like a long ****? (*edit: s.h.a.g. was the "bleeped word). It would allow you to have shorter, more updated hair, but will hopefully keep you from going into shock over a drastic change in length. I too have long hair, and the few times I had shorter hair, I had trouble keeping it out of my face and off my neck. I missed being able to put it up or pull it back when washing my face (but it was nice to be able to dry off after a shower with one towel instead of two). And blow drying or curling could be done without holding my arms way out for what seemed like hours.Depending on your hair type, this could be very versatile. It could be an easy "wash and go" style, or fussed over with hot rollers and curling irons for a fancier hair do. If you've had the same simple style for years, you may not be in practice at styling you hair, so if you find it too daunting at first, you could always do a pony tail or simple updo on bad hair days. Just keep the bangs long enough to pull back behind your ears, or into a ponytail. If you're starting college it would allow you a new, sexy look while being quick and easy to style, or use a quick fix for when you don't have time. Without all the weight of the hair pulling it straight, it might turn out curlier than it is now. You can go to your Yahoo or Msn home page, click on "images", then put in "hairstyles" for pictures and ideas. Find someone with a similar face shape.

"i recently got 7 inches cut off my hair! I have long brown hair and it was pretty much one length also! It is now shoulder length with a lot of layers. (I took a pic of Lauren Conrad's new haircut, from the MTV show the Hills, to my stylist and she worked her magic) I love nicole Richie's Bob from a summer ago this is a pic of it http://www.nicole-richie.ws/about-nicole-richie/Celebrity_678.jpg If you have long thick wavy hair this might be simple to care for and it is gogeous http://www.e-wig.info/images/hothair/js-23in-wvy-ext.jpg or faith hill has beautiful long wavy hairhttp://z.about.com/d/countrymusic/1/0/R/l/4/hot_faith.jpg I would pull the long hair off if your hair is thick, i wish i could!!! But shoulder length is always good too! Just some ideas hope they help!!

"Hi, I have similar hair and this is the cut I used to have and it worked for me. http://beauty.about.com/od/hairstylephotogalleries/ss/hairgallery_2.htmHowever, this takes some care when the hair decides to frizz up. I then needed to make it easier for me and grew my hair a few inches below my shoulders... like the leftmost on this pic: http://www.thesalon.com.sg/salon_chic/ceramic.htmI think these look nice, with minimum maintenance if you have slightly wavy hair. Also, if they frizzup, you can just twist up or tieup. Hope you find something you love!! I'm thinking of getting long bangs now, but not too sure.
