"Favorite source of long, narrow shoes?" > - Beauty and Fashion >

"As a shoehound with ridiculously-sized feet (11N), I'm always looking for places to snag good deals on amazing shoes. Also constantly searching for more brands that don't say "narrow", but fit that way. Ferragamo and Jimmy Choo are like this, but who can afford to spluge like that too often? I'm growing weary of manufactureres offering only frumpy, dowdy styles in this size, that my grandmother wouldn't wear. Any suggestions?

"I don't wear an 11N but I do wear a 10. I love a great deal on fabulous shoes. I do a lot of shoe shopping at Nordstrom Rack and TJ Maxx. I don't know where you live but in Portland, Or there is a great imported shoe boutique. I'm sure there are more around like it. I don't know if that helps, but I hope it does a little. Do you do any online shopping? Zappos.com would be a great place to look too. It was started by 2 guys from Nordstrom Shoes.

"I am a 10, and until recently it was really hard to find shoes. MY local TJ Maxx has had a lot of shoes. I also heard that Lane Bryant outlets carry larger size shoes in all widths

"I hear you - people that do not have narrow feet do not understand how difficult it is to find a shoe that fits and does not slip. I myself wear an 8N. I have had success in the past finding shoes at nordstrom rack - but you have to hit it at the right time and i have not found shoes there in quite some time. zappos.com is a good place to look as well as well as onlineshoes.com. also, Nordstroms carries narrow shoes. most stores do not have a wide selection and sometimes they are very frumpy.

"http://www.sexyshoes.com/ try this site. It's not what you think! They have shoes suitable for work, everyday, and going out. They do carry large sizes. Or you can go into the seach bar and type in sexy shoes, erotic shoes, etc..and you'll get sites with all kinds of foot wear in all sizes.

"I'm familiar with Nordstrom, Zappos, Shoebuy, etc., and have a decent shoe wardrobe of good basic styles. Likewise, I buy my socks and trouser socks at Lane Bryant, because they stock the 10-13 sock size. I've noticed it's less difficult these days to find larger-sized shoes, but the search is insanely complicated by the 'narrow' part. Even shoe clerks say this width is simply disappearing, as Americans grow, shall we say, larger (?). I'm not sure whether my size is harder to find, or my mom's (8 1/2-AAAA!). Also, something happens with shoe design between sizes 10 and 11--the designers seem to lose their sense of proportion. Apparently, if you wear a ten, your feet are of narrow-to-medium, "normal" width. If you wear an 11, well, somehow, the shoe manufacturers think a big increase in width is necessary at this point in the size spectrum--much more than between, say, 8 and 9, or 9 and 10! "Geez, Lady, you wear an 11, you must be Sasquatch!" or something like that. Maybe I'm just nuts... The discounters are great, IF you stumble in there on the right day. I found a pair of beige Stuart Weitzman loafers once at a Nordstrom Rack in Chicago, and a pair of to-die-for (and COMFORTABLE) very-high Ferragamo pumps at an Off-Fifth in Sarasota. They were marked 'medium', which is why I'm curious whether anybody knows of other brands which similarly run very narrow. My local TJ Maxx, for some inexplicable reason, believes that if you wear a shoe size over ten, you only want masculine-looking (and very wide) sneakers--fuschia eyelet high-top Converse Chucks, anyone?--or indescribeably unattractive, equally too-wide retail rejects. Unfortunately, I live in a smallish town and have to do shopping for anything interesting online, and sometimes on vacations if we travel someplace "good". Anyone able to comment on Delman's or Chanel's fit, if I can ever afford the latter? I see them off-price sometimes, but scared to risk it online.

wyckedredhead
"Chanel's fit runs small-ish all the way around. If it's designer shoes you're looking for, Monolo's and Prada usually have a good variety of sizes, but to be honest I'm not sure how long and/or narrow they run. Did you try the website I mentioned previously? You migt also ty, and please please do NOT be offended as I do not mean to be offensive,BUT if you type into your search bar, or in google large sized shoes...there is a site and all i can remember is it is near the top of the results, its for transvestites and cross gendered men, BUT I have purchased shoes fro them many times! I love thier shoes, and they come in all sizes from sized 8WWW on up! They sell mostly dress shoes- high heels and dressy sandals and such. Give that a shot. Most women don't think of tying those sites, but the prices arent bad, and they have the untraditional sizes some women need.

"I have such a hard time finding shoes!!! i wear a size 9N, and any stilettos, sandals, etc. look horrible on me, unless i go out and spend twice as much at some specialty shoe store.

coolkate
"I know how you all feel. I wear a size 11 wide, depending on the shoe brands. Can't ever find a decent shoes without spending a whole lot of money, unless you want the ugliest shoes around. I am glad to hear that I am not the only one that is having this problem. I just wished our local stores would consider our shoe sizes. I hate to shop online because I don't know how they will fit once I have them. Has anyone succeed on getting the "perfect" shoe through online purchasing and without any problems. Let me know.

"I wear a 10 wide, my mother wears an 8 1/2 AA, and we've both had great luck at Maryland Square - www.marylandsquare.com. In general, their shoes are not cheap, but they are stylish, really comfortable, and last for years. I had on a pair yesterday that felt like my oldest, most comfy shoes the first time I put them on.

"Bee Luscious has the most amazing shoes! You should really try them! I'm totally not spamming!Sorry, couldn't resist the sarcasm.

AmysTwin
Miss Z .... you must have some severe social issues to tend to ! what an idiot you are !

Miss Z
"An idiot? Darling, I am not the one with the aversion to capital letters. If you feel so insulted on the behalf of our spammers, I really can't help but pity you. It must be a sad life, buying into every silly advertisement you see.

AmysTwin

"I am major tired of Spam for your bee royal products website. That is ALL you have written about since you became a poster. Don't you get it Amy?? SPAM that violates MSN code of conduct for these boards. Reread what I wrote in message 19, then go back & read where bees skip a space when using !!!!!s as punctuation. THAT plus same errors in spelling (such as "your" when it should be "you're" for you are) point out you are same person with multiple poster names.

Miss Z
"Amy's so cute when she calls people losers but can't use "your" and "you're" properly.

PotatoeHill
Miss Z and Axelas stop putting people down and being prejudice! You do not know who or what they are and that is a simple nasty low blow. Its wrong they have not hurt anyone or anything you guys are just nasty ladies.

Swiss_Wife
Amystwin just called them losers? and you don't think that's nasty....

Miss Z
"Miss Z and Axelas stop putting people down and being prejudice! That would be "prejudiced," hon. You are using the noun form when you desire to communicate an adverb. Then again, I shouldn't expect better from you.

Astonished Foreigner
Another site very similar to zappos is shoes.com They sometimes have styles and sizes that zappos doesn't and the price point and shipping rules are all the same. Hope that helps!

"HongKongFui Message #13 - 10/08/07 07:42 PMI new here, why people so nasty to each other? I am not American I hope you no make fun of my writting ??If a product can cause so much diversity , I must try it ! HKFui I no make fun of your writting.Miss Z I'm in Alabama & 55 yrs old. (Is your fiance from Germany? It is my favorite country to travel to).Glad to see you speak German too. Can you also speak Dutch and Spanish? Errr, dang it, I can also speak Dutch and Spanish. Does that mean you do too? Or do you speak another language and I don't? How can I/we do that??? ahhhh-forgot WE are same person. Oh what the heck, I am going batty. One thing is true, very true. I am a silly person w/sense of humor.

Miss Z
"I'm from Georgia, actually, and my parents were born and raised in Alabama. So perhaps we are more alike than we knew!My fiance is actually an Army brat, just like me. We took German in high school and college and traveled there. We keep practicing German because we hope to go back, one day. I don't speak Dutch or Spanish. Those are my sister's favorites. :)

AmysTwin
"Good Morning Axelas...... Well you and Miss Z are the same person, because I have been around a long time and you bragged months ago about knowing all these different languages and you caught yourself on the other post, as you were degrading someone else for lack of education, ouctuation and etc. which is very low, and my opinion of you educated or not, you do not act as a refined caring person, just a "BUSY BODY" that thinks she knows everything, your personal life must be very lonely and you must be very bitter to have so much hatred built up. Your behavior is childish, spoiled, and down right EVIL. You don't like a product then FINE don't buy it, your hitting little report button won't change things so guess what let it go already! These boards used to be packed with people until you got on your high horse and began following certain posters around and getting violent etc.. Take your MEDS and leave these people alone already!

"AmysTwin and other Bees, please, just stop using these threads as your means of spamming and advertising your bee royal products site. I am not going to respond to your mesg #33. Miss Z Middle son was in Army for 6 years, got out in Feb. & plans to join Coast Guard soon. Is taking break. Oh and he grew beard and mustache & has shaggy hair. His MOS was Dental Hygienist. I'm glad he picked C. Guard. Keep saving $$$. Even with dollar to Euro exchange , I can still travel to Germany on a budget. I don't stay in motels, stay in Pensions (zimmer frei) or Gastehaus, and breakfast is included. How cool to knock on door & stay in someone's home. Car rental is very reasonable, but parking can be difficult and costly in larger cities. I've stayed off autobahn (ausfahrt-LOL) and visited small towns a lot. Bavaria is my favorite area. So is ein grosse helles (Dunkel is yuck) Bier . Mein Grosvater und Grosmutter are Dutch. Enough of this chat, I want to go right now. OR for Weinachten Markte!!

"Try searching designershoes.com I am 5'9" tall, wear size 10 1/2 and have narrow feet with high arches. Check this site for hard to find shoes like I need. I do not like high heels, except for very special occasions. Comfort is more important to me, since I am always on my feet @work. My style is "casual"...I don't wear "granny" shoes and love my Birkenstocks and sneakers for work.
